INCA MISHA YACHAY:
The Memory of the Nustas

A 10-Day Immersion in the Andes Mountains and Sacred Valley with
the entire Macchaca Flores Family of Q’eros Nation, Peru

Join Us in Peru - August 2026

Five years ago, we began an annual pilgrimage to the High Andes Mountains—to receive memory, offer nourishment, and weave the threads of ayni for our friends & teachers in Q’eros Nation.

This summer, we return again— to meet the Nustas at Ausangate, Waman Lipa & Salkantay, continuing to embody
the legacy of the Inca.

For 10 days in August, we will walk the high mountain paths through the Andes— from sacred mountain to sacred lake — and weave colored threads of rainbow light through the seams of ancient, snow-capped peaks. Together, we will pilgrimage to receive the memory of the nustas — the daughters of the Incan empire’s highest mountains— and to feed their stones and soils with gratitude. Through the nustas, we will weave the rainbow light of the stars into our bodies, and strengthen our mesas with karpay, transmissions from the Earth, sweat lodge, song and each other.

WHY PAKARINA WISDOM?

  • Intimate Group

We are calling in a small group of kind participants (14) to join us on a powerful journey through the Sacred mountains of Peru. All you need are strong legs and an open heart. Sharing this experience fills our hearts with joy and it is truly something special. Let us journey high into the mountains with the earth keepers of Q’eros nation. We will directly experience the magic of Peru by walking together, and forging powerful connections with spirit and each other.

  • High Ratio of Healers and Facilitators to Participants

We make e special considerations to protect the potency of this retreat by limiting its size to 14 participants maximum. This ensures quality connections with our crew of 2 (often more!) Q’ero teachers and 2+ experienced facilitators who offer a wealth of knowledge and skillful support. All facilitators are long-time students, and trauma-informed shamanic practitioners.

  • Fair Exchange with Our Brothers + Sisters in Q'eros Nation

Pakarina Wisdom is deeply committed to a generous profit split for our pilgrimages to Peru (always in favor of the lineage holders) and is in the process of gaining non-profit status in order to create a foundational structure that is better suited to healthy reciprocity with the larger community of Q’eros Nation. We contribute financially to both our lineage holders and the greater community of Q’eros.

  • Complete Teachings and Ongoing Access to Lineage Holders

This experience is crafted to strengthen your connection to Pacha Mama and the Apus (tutelary spirits of the mountains) by providing a careful set of instructions to start building your network of spirit allies. All participants will be initiated into the Q’ero lineage through traditional transmissions (karpay) that offer a strong foundation and launch pad for personal and professional healing.

These teaching are concentrated seeds that will continue to grow and flourish for years to come. We encourage our students to maintain contact with the lineage holders for continued growth and private instruction at your own pace.

  • Powerful Sacred Sites that Weave Beautifully into our Energy Medicine Practices

Each of our four stops: Apu Ausangate, Apu Salkantay, Mama Simona, Q’eros Nation and the condor overlook will be potent portals of activation and learning through rich ceremonial work with the elements and Apus.

This is an excellent value that provides a fair exchange for the hard work our teachers and facilitators put in to making this a quality experience, and also allows you to visit very sacred portals of energy with the lineage holders themelves. Organizing trips to these mountains is a laborious and complicated process, and we take care of all of it for you.

  • Additional Sacred Medicines + Ceremonies

Purification lodges and medicine hikes deeply enrich our work together. Our sweat lodges are held by experienced Sun Dancers who hold great reverence and respect for this beautiful medicine and the traditions from which it is shared. And our hikes with sacred medicines from the Andes open the portals of perception to recieve timeless wisdom stored in the land.

We have found that honoring the sacred altars of the condor and eagle potentiates transformation and helps us to better house the powerful transmissions we receive from our Q’ero elders.

Our Retreat Immersion Includes:

  • A 10-Day, fully-organized pilgrimage to the Sacred Valley and High Andes mountains of southern Peru— housing, food (save a few meals out in town), ground transportation and logistics

LEADERSHIP TEAM

DON AGUSTIN MACHACCA FLOREZ

Don Agustín began his studies at the age of 16 when his grandfather, Altomesayok Manuel Machacca had a dream that the lineage would be passed on to him. At this time, Don Agustín had fallen ill and the coca leaves foretold that he would become strong again as soon as he entered into formal service to Pacha Mama.

He completed his aprenticeships at age 21 and has spent the last 30 + years in service as a Pampamesayok. He learned about the sacred feminine from his grandmother Manuela Mendoza, and continues to bring a balanced heart that radiates goodness through all of his offerings.

Long before he knew there would be a global interest in Andean wisdom teachings, Don Agustin received a message while in the company of Altomesayok, Andres Espinoza Qapac. It said that he would be sharing Andean wisdom with people from all over the world. He is thrilled to see such a vision come to fruition, and is honored to share this medicine with deep trust and gratitude.

Santos Machacca Apaza continues to study with his father Don Agustin, who is currently guiding him on a deep journey to step onto his path as Pampamesayok.

As the future lineage holder of the ancestral wisdom, he dedicates himself to Spanish and English translation to make these teachings more accessible to international students.

He has supported his father in sacred ceremony for many years and on multiple occasions traveled to Europe to share these teachings. He brings gentleness and laughter to our ceremonies and we are honored to have his support.

SANTOS MACHACCA APAZA

RICHARD WADE WILLIS

Richard Wade Willis is dedicated to helping his clients move through challenging spaces of addiction and psychological suffering toward liberation and well-being. He began working with plant medicines in the Peruvian Amazon in 2013, after recovering from many years of severe addiction, and found their capacities for healing to radically shift the course of his life. His subsequent commitment to plant dieta with Ayahuasca, and awakening to the vast healing potential of spirit medicine, reached new heights when he began his apprenticeship with Don Agustin Machacca Florez of Q’eros Nation in 2016. In recent years, he has committed to a long-term initiatory path with the Lakota people, and the Sundance. Each year, he teaches courses on dreamwork and Peruvian Shamanism that culminate in an in-person group journey to the high mountains of Peru or sacred location in the United States, and he consistently offers ceremonies, workshops and gatherings focused on supporting humans in returning to the life-nourishing gifts of Earth and her medicines.

JANE MAYER

Jane Mayer is a medicine woman, creative, doula, and guide to the unseen realms, who delights in supporting humans and Earth in coming fully alive. Alongside supporting private clients, she writes, records and performs music, and guides a school for creativity and awakening. A keeper of song and a lover of mythos, her practice is borne of the weaving of indigenous medicine from Peru (including Don Agustin + Santos), Hawaii and Ireland, the Christian mysticism of her home in the deep South, and a depth of knowledge in the nervous system, subtle body, and the somatic experience of awakening.

She holds deep trust in the wild intelligence of nature to guide all of Creation, and orients others to their deeper nature and innate gifts with sound, myth, dreams, plant, energy medicine and somatic integration.

KATE VREDEVOOGD

Kate Vredevoogd is a published author, ceremonialist, medicine-maker, nature based ritualist, cacao medicine carrier, ceremonial photographer, and trauma-informed facilitator. Her journey with Andean wisdom began when she lived in Spain, but the teachers continued to find her as she moved to Washington, then Kaua'i, and ultimately they brought her to Peru to meet the Apus in person. Working with Don Agustín, Santos, Luís, and their families has been a blessing of the highest, and she is honored to be supporting them, and Richy, in making these teachings available to students around the world—teachings which continue to enrich her life and deepen her sense of connection. Filled with Munay, she gives gratitude and appreciation to all of the Earth Keepers walking this path home together.
